Applications over X11 are not working

Hi Guys,

I am facing this unique issue. I am using checkpoint Remote access VPN client and I do connect to my ssh server once I connected to VPN. Then I start GUI applications which failed to start. Initially I thought it could be a vpn or checkpoint issue however I replicated the setup in my other home lab and it works fine over there.

Hence I suspect this could be related to X11 or dbus? Can you please confirm?

I don't see an error message from nautilus.

Have you tried ssh -Y without the -X? -X is at best redundant, and perhaps it causes a problem.

This ^^^^^^^^^

I use "ssh -Y" all the time (on the local LAN) and haven't had any X applications fail to run. I've run across a couple, though, that refuse to open windows on any system other than the one the application is running on and I've always attributed it to be a dbus-related problem (and one I can live with).

From the OP's log file, X11 forwarding appears to have been accepted. I have to wonder what application is not running.

Hi,

Well not sure if this is firewall issue - Which does not look like or if this is an issue with X11 over internet but connectivity till firewall is absolutely fine no latency and no issues at all.

But my X11 applications like Firefox or nautilus or some custom applications they properly work on LAN but hangs over the VPN.
