Apache with virtual hosts

I was wondering by using virtual hosts is it possible to block access to a certain part of the document root. I wan to be able to access the php files but I dont want external access to the files in the gubed directory. But I want to be able to access both internally via my browser (http://localhost/). I have could obtain a dynamic domain name for external access. This is because is dont have a static IP.

Am using apache 2

You need to specify the 'Allow' directive in the Directory stanza of your httpd.conf or your virtual host configuration file, as:

Order allow,deny
Allow 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0
