Just i formatted a FAT32 partition and format it to EXT3 for RHEL 4. Now the Kid is crying , that the forgot to backup the data in it. Is there anyway to revert it back to FAT32 ????
Or is there anyway to recover it back . Your advice/assisstance are invited.
Mmmm - not strictly true.
mkefs writes the fs metadata, but doesn't re-write the entire partition.
Likely a deal of data will be lost, but some of the forensic tools will help. It'll be a pain, and slow - start with something like photorec, then maybe foremost.
This comes up (at least) every week - hit the search button.
