Antivir

SuSE 10.0 GM

I know there's already a lot of questions about antivir but I very unsure about this.
I installed Antivir because it comes with the SuSE install disc.

Now I am a bit confused -
http://www.antivir.de/index.php?id=56&backPID=56&L=2
when I go here I cant register.
Is it still free or has it become licensed?

Also I wanted to set it up with a GUI
http://www.sebastian-geiges.de/cms_e...nt.php?idcat=6
as shown here.
Does any one have experience with using this GUI for antivir?

Thank you.

edit
Just noticed that the link to antivir do not go where I indented.
You have to choose antivir under FAQ. Anyway here are the error:
Code:
Not Found
The requested URL /unixreg_form_de.htm was not found on this server.
When I was reading about it I saw a lot of people asking "do you have a license?"
Can't find anything on there site?

Do you really need antivirus? If you are not sharing files with Windows users then you probably don't need antivirus because Linux is immune to Windows viruses.

Antivir is still free. I never tried registering so I don't know about that. How current is the version you're setting up? There have been GUI addons in the past, but as of September this year the Antivir program includes its own GUI. My only experience is with downloading and running the text-based installer. Maybe you could remove the one you have and download the latest version from their website.

Well I am on a dual boot setup with XP and are sharing files with that system on a FAT32 partition.
I am unsure if I need it, but nonetheless it is fun to play with because I am new to linux.

It is version -
AntiVir / Linux Version 2.1.3-43 +gui
The above is from when I run it in shell. It says +GUI but I have been unable to start it up with GUI.
btw it's fine like that, but do you happen to know if it is with GUI, and if, then how to fire it up?

About the registration. It's because it says that you can only update if you are registered.
But maybe there service is down. I will try again.

EDIT !

Just tried to update 2 sec after I made this post.
It worked perfectly.
Don't have a clue anymore to why I was thinking that I needed to be registered.
Thank you for your help.
