access ftp server from the outside world


Hello,

I've a problem with my ftp server
its works on a redhat 9.0 server
when i ftp 192.168.10.1 and i log in with ftpuser then i see only his directory i cant change to de root dir because i put the name ftpuser in the ftp_chrootlist

ok thats works but when someone ftp 212.28.282.128 my internet ip adress and logs in with the same user they can see everthing like /etc/ /home /bin enzz. how is this possible????

i have only one network card eth0

Help me!!

If you only have eth0 then exactly how are you using 2 different ip addresses?

If you have a sub interface configured then when you ifconfig it should show as

eth0 <some settings>

and

eth0:1 <some more settings>

If the box is not set as least simular to this then there is something you are not either aware of or telling us.

Í have one networkinterface en i run a virtual server om my router that routes everthing to the ip adress of my ftp server
