Since becoming a contractor, my security plan seems to be to stifle laughs scourge security models presented to me, and simply to the brief as simply as possible. Which is hard as i generally give plenty of shits about the security ods networks i'm involved in.

At work my plan is to focus on bringing the core operating systems more up to date. Upgrades to new versions and even updates have been largely ignored. Most of the systems are running Windows server 2003. A web server is running on with PHP 4 and JPGraph 1.2 and hasn't been touched in years. I keep hearing that it has never been a problem, to which I respond it isn't a problem, until the day that it is.
