[PROFTPD] LDAP vs basic auth.

Hi everyone!

I've got just 1 question that's disturbing me: is it better to use LDAP for authentification on proftpd ?

If it is... what features will it bring to me ? is it quite easy to set up ?

To install i suppose i should get slapd (OpenLDAP) + proftpd-ldap packages (on Debian)...
But to configure, i really don't know how to do it... i suppose there is commands for the ldap server that add, modify or remove entries, that's it ? where could i find them ?

Thanks

The only reason you would have to go to ldap would be simplified administration across the board for every app like samba ftp ssh etc.
And you have like 100+ users if not then its pretty much just a waste of time.
Plus seting up ldap is a freaking pain by it self.
