LQ ISO Maintainer

Hello LQ folks,
I would like to help maintain new LINUX ISO distributions. Please provide more information about the responsibilities and requirements, if you still need someone.
Thank you,

Jeremy has given some more information in this post

We'd also like to increase the number of mirrors included for most of the existing entries. The job is one that is almost entirely self led, although we're happy to help with any questions you may have. While a huge amount of time is not required per week (1-2 hours would be plenty), we are looking for people who are interested in doing this for the foreseeable future. It takes a little while to get up to speed on how things should be done, so high turnover is not desirable. There is also some attention to detail required, as we want to avoid duplicates, errors, etc. In addition to helping keep things current, you'd also be able to have a considerable amount of input into the design and functionality of the site. If this still sounds like something you'd be interested in, please contact me via the Contact Form. From there we'll select interested members. LQ ISO has facilitated over 50 million Linux downloads and it's great to see the interest level here.
I'd also like to express my interest in helping out with LQ ISO.

I am interested, but would require a full job specification before commitment.

We're Looking For LQ ISO Maintainers

I'm also interested/prepared to help. I echo what others have said - need to know just what you require. I assume you want to spread the load somewhat, which would suit me well.

Thanks for the continued interested. Anyone who contacted us directly should have gotten a response. I'm going to leave some additional time for members who are interested to contact us, then start going through the selections. The response here has been much higher than we anticipated, which is very much appreciated.

I am willing to give it a go provided I am up to it. I have maintained my own systems for years now, but am still a bit weary of doing it for a public body.

Yes from me but I think I need to know more about what is involved before I say a difinite yes. I used to do a lot of keeping up with distributions at one time. Also am not sure how much time I can give to it but would like to help. Please tell me more.

Question Some doubts about the kind of mirroring you are asking for

I have read and it's not clear if LQ builds their own ISO collection and they are just asking us to mirror that or what they are looking for is for people mirroring whichever distros they like and notifying LQ with some kind of procedure.

I might be willing to help but I need to allocate enough resources for the mirror in my servers and I need to know what exact kind of help is LQ needing from hosting providers.

I must agree with K Brown about the space I may need to allocate to an iso collection. I would much preffer to select some candidate iso's and mirror them with something like ktorrent, rather than an entire pre-determined iso collection.
