SimplyMepis 3.3 release is Out

Downloaded the ISO which is one disc and installed it today. It truly is the easiest distro l have ever installed. Gives you default, nvidia or Ati video card options during the install which took about 15 minutes. Bill Gates eat your heart out. Not much in the way of packages that l had to install because the default selection is excellent - firefox, k3b, synaptic, kpackage, kmail, gaim, the gimp, digikam, open office, 2.6.10 kernel, kooka , azeurus, ... the list is endless. Came over from windose a year ago and stuff like this has sure made the staying easy.

I've just tried it and it wqorks so good on my system. The last two releases didn't work so well with my hardware, but this time round all seems to be working fine

Might get it if nvidia drivers work fine out of box. Been looking for perfect distro for it.

As is typical of a Knoppix variant, the Mepis install is off-of-CD only. Essentially, it copies over the entire LiveCD file system, with some adjustments here and there to account for appropriate differences (like user/root passwords).

For the most part, it's a push-button install. Either you install the whole thing or not at all.
