Quarterly LQ Zero Reply Drive
One of the main goals of LQ is to help members get questions about Linux answered. One way we help facilitate this is with the "Zero Reply" functionality, which allows you to easily find threads with no replies. In the spirit of helping other LQ members and based on feedback from previous efforts, we're making the "Zero Reply Drive" a quarterly event here at LQ. The latest LQZRD will start at noon today (LQDT) and run for 96 hours. During that time, I invite everyone to click http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...p?do=noreplies and attempt to answer as many questions as they can.
Keep in mind that if you'd like to search for threads on specific topics that have 0 replies, you can do so using the advanced search (Find Threads with -> At Most -> 0 Replies). If you have any ideas on how we can further facilitate questions being answered at LQ, please let us know in this thread. --jeremy |
The latest Zero Reply Drive has officially started with 334 Threads with 0 replies (from the last month).

Thanks or [SOLVED] threads or some such during the drive? Maybe that won't promote answering when the drive isn't on, though. |

Assign some special title beneath the usernames of all those members who answer those zero reply threads till the next Zero-reply drive starts. |
Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.
We're currently halfway through the first quarterly LQ Zero Reply Drive and here's an update: 251 Threads with 0 replies (from the last month) --jeremy |
How is the numbering going?

So, how many of this zero replies has then been answered? //Leopold |
Post #2 said 334, so we can assume that at least 83 threads have been removed from the list. Though this does not account for new threads that were added and then removed.

A suggestion: Make the drive run over the week not over the weekend ... as you probably already know there are fewer people here on the weekends.
|
The drives are currently based on dates, without much regard for day of the week.

Well, it is something to consider ... and surely shifting by a few days will not upset any schedule.

A final update with less than 24 hours left in the LQZRD:
258 Threads with 0 replies (from the last month) --jeremy |
Talk about a humbling experience ... I did not know that there was so much that i did not know about Linux OS. I knew there was quite a bit but my goodness!, ima a real d*a*s ... :o.
The enormous number of distribution level variables makes my head hurt. Seems like all subjects need to be classified under distro first and issue area second. Sort-of makes me long for the old days when Linux was Linux and not Mandriva-linux, *suse-linux, Slackware-linux, *buntu-linux, ...(hundreds)-linux. Maybe I should sign posts as :newbie: ... I cannot do any more ...my head hurts(really, it does -kinda of a numbness like sitting though lectures on quantum mechanics). |
What about a template?
Quote:
I was thinking of some form of template:study:. Like; " Do you have a problem? Please, write of and fill in following template Distro (*buntu, OpenSuse etc): System config (what type of computer do yo use): The problem sort: [ ]Hardware or [ ]Software The name of the hardware/software you have problem with: Describe the problem: " What do you all think? Something good or bad or in the between? //Leopold :Pengy: |

The following points might be an overkill but still let me have a go. Quote:

The quarterly LQ Zero Reply Drive if officially over, and here's the final number:
232 Threads with 0 replies (from the last month) That's over 100 less zero reply threads then when the drive started. Thanks again for helping your fellow LQ members. --jeremy |
Jeremy,
I would have posted a long time ago. However I have little time and therefore did not. I must complement you and the linuxquestions.org team for all the fantastic work they have done. This site is a great resource! Weisner |
