I was annoyed when those GtF banners started to show in various places, but now I just ignore them (easy done with Adblock ;). They may be making more people afraid of migrating from Windows. But since I no longer see expansion as the primary goal for Linux or Open Source, I don't care. The only downside would be that if we don't grow, we may not get support from vendors, writing drivers for us. This is the only reason to grow that I care about: getting more support.

Besides, if people are dumb enough to believe what Microsoft says they may not be smart enough to use Linux anyway. :P
