To confirm what frankbell said, this isn't about traditional "marketing" or "spreading the Linux mantra". Members explicitly asked for items with the LQ logo on them and the LQ Merchandise Shop allows them to purchase those while also helping to support the site in the process.

Re:-Making is easier to support LQ.
This idea may or may not gain favour.
A while ago a well known 'orphans charity' Was raising funds. It was so easy to donate.
How :- Very simply by text. A dedicated number was texted and the amount of the donation specified .
That figure was deducted from the senders credit and redirected to the end recipient.

Example :- No.xxx xxx xxxx.xxxx. 2$ . .The txt was charged and the 2$ sent on to recipients account .

Just give us a cell or hardline number and things will happen

Please do not make derogatory or snide replies to this posting . We are all friends with similar

LQ Nerchandise

Zazzle's prices have always been too high. Compare them to other sites that sell Linux merchandise. There has to be a less expensive way to buy Linux stuff.

Due to the on demand one-off nature of the products, they will never be the least expensive option available. That said, they are high quality products and are less expensive than the previous option we used.

It looks like we would be able to offer high quality t-shirts directly through Amazon for roughly $16.99 each. If this is an option people would be interested in, let me know and I'll look into getting the process started.

I will buy one if the base/background color comes in black.

Unfortunately. Being a full time biker. White t-shirts get smeared with oil and grease by me on a daily basis.

Just cannot help it is all. I have plenty of coffee cups and mouse pads.

If too much trouble making black T's. I'll understand.

I've submitted one front logo design to Amazon. If approved it will be available in black, white, grey, light blue and yellow. I'll post a link here when it's available for purchase. Based on feedback we could also offer a back logo design as well.

Based on feedback we've added t-shirts with the LQ logo on the back, in addition to the existing logo on the front option. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=w_bl_sl...xQuestions.org should always show the most up-to-date options available. For a broader list of options (far beyond shirts), we will continue to support and offer http://www.zazzle.com/linuxquestions* as well. Any additional feedback is welcome.

Those shirts look amazing, I gotta have one . Do you know how thick the material is? The last time I ordered a shirt like that (had nothing to do with LQ) it turned out to have been made from some pretty thin fabric, barely undershirt quality.

FWIW I'd love to see some polo shirt style LQ shirts, as I seldom wear t-shirts. Not sure how many prefer that style over t-shirts...

The reviews for other shirts from Amazon seem to indicate it's a high quality shirt. I've ordered one to verify but it hasn't arrived yet. When it does I can post pictures and a brief overview. If any other LQ members have comments once they receive theirs, please do post here.
