David will live on in the knowledge he has given us, and those yet to find their way here.
Bringing the beauty of open source all the way to heaven.
You have our gratitude.

Like most everyone here, I never met David in real life either. But he always seemed to have a great sense of humor and I often enjoyed reading his posts/emails. Hopefully our paths will cross again at some point and we can sit and talk over a pint. RIP mc9.

I remember a few good things he helped me on, and many more where he was helping others. He'll be sorely missed around here.

Blessed be, David.

My condoleances to his family and friends, and to all at LQ who shared a bond with him one way or the other.

not one leaf remains

This is terribly sad news, and although I never met him personally, I learned a lot from David's posts here at LQ.

I send my condolences to those particularly close to him.

May His soul rest in peace.

Rest in Peace

Although a brother has departed,
the good that he left behind to all, serves as a reminder.
We are all one family; connected both physical and in spirit. Continue the dreams we share in common in this world while our brother looks down and watches over us from the heavens.

May Gods love bless you for all eternity.

Wow - I'm so sorry to hear this.

I never spoke with Dave through email, through any instant messenger, or through posts here, but I do send my condolences to his family. Losing one you love so young is a tragedy.

I learned much from his posts here (before I was registered and established as a member), and little did David know it, but he helped me set up my first dual boot, learn how to use Grub, how to mount my FAT 32 partitions and other such simple, but needed skills. I never said it to him, but would like to say now

Thank you. Your help to me and dedication to this community is very much appreciated.

God bless, Dave. God bless.
