Congratulations!!!

I learned a lot from LQ, and one of the results would be Monara_32 and Monara_x86-64, based on Debian 8.1 and Openbox.

Ardvark, you are using Windows Vista. I used to like it, but now I'm not using any Windows. How is it? This is off topic, though.

How many different countries are already represented over here?
Although a more silent/background member I am visiting often, although I am not that consequent to logon every time. This and one other site is my main source of information. until now it seems like most questions I have, have already been posted somewhere. I owe most of my linux experiences and solutions to LQ and its knowledgeable members.

Congratulations to the site and all who support this initiative.

In the last 12 months we've received visits from 243 distinct geographic regions. For those curious, the most visits are from the USA; the least visits from Niue.

Hi...

I'm sorry, I just now noticed your question. I haven't been back to this thread in a while.

I do like the look and feel of it and some of the eye candy but, on the other hand, I don't care for the amount of resources it needs or some of the "security" features, like the UAC (which I've disabled, along with the subsequent toolbar warning.)

It came with the desktop system (including a restore CD) I'm now using and I originally installed it in case I needed to use Windows in connection with my work, although I use it for others things too, like Chess Titans.

Let me know if you have more questions about it.

Regards...

aardvark71, what do you plan to do about Vista's EOL? And have you stuck with it because of an old computer, or because you like it?

Hi...

I'm not sure yet, I'll probably just keep it after it has reached EOL, although I might see if I can upgrade to Windows 7, depending on if I feel the need and how cheaply I can pick up a copy on ebay, Lord willing.

I've kept it more because I like the look and feel and the ability to be able to do the things that requires Windows (including work related items) or only Windows has. I don't care for Windows 8 or UEFI at all (perhaps 10 will be better) but I know that down the road, I'll be needing a system that has the capability to run either of these two OS's.

Between Vista and 7, I like and dislike elements of both, so for me, I don't think one has any major advantage over the other.

Regards...
