looked around and couldn't find a mission statement?

same for linux,

these parts stands out: "LinuxQuestions.org - where Linux users come for help"

"One of the main goals of LQ is to help members get questions about Linux answered."

is there a LQ Mission Statement? looked around and googled LQ as well as linux in regards to a MS

Not an official corporate style one, no; although I think our intended goals are quite clear.

A proposal for a mission statement for LQO:
