Linux@HOME, a wikiblog for Linux lovers

Well, so I'm here to present my own little site.

Took me a couple of weeks to set it up but I'm rather content with it. Linux@HOME is a mixture of wiki and blog. The idea behind is actually pretty simple. I want to conquer the world with Linux but I'm too lazy to spend hours after hours in howtos and tutorials. So I figured, mountain, Mohammed ect. and gathered all the info about my plans, ideas, hardware and software to one place so I wouldn't be the only one cracking my head with it.

I also like helping other people out, so I thought that kind of site would be a really nice way to make easily understandable documentation for others on various subjects. I intend to produce tutorials there, that cater different interesting ideas, what to do with Linux and how to do it.

Third, I just figured, that there are other people like me, who enjoy figuring out solutions to different problems and puzzles, especially in a logical environment like Linux. Where else could I look for such people if not from here. LinuxQuestions' users have helped me through tons of problems so I figured some of them would enjoy a site like this.

Enough blabbering, site's here: http://linuxathome.no-ip.org.

Thanks go to Jeremy for letting me advertise it here at all. Feel free to post your opinion about it eighter here or on the site.

(It's also a home hosted site. I hope to god I won't get a Slashdot effect from here : D.)

Really? No interest whatsoever?
Does it even work?

Give it time. There's a link here which helps. Your best bet is to put a link to your blog in your signature block and then help people on LQ. Once you get some more good posts under your belt, people will start to head to your site.

Thanks for your reply but for the moment I'm not really that worried with getting lots of users.

I'm just interested if such a site has any value at all and if there are people who would be interested in it.

Other then that, I'll take your advice. Thanks.

Help sites always have a use. Even if they take time to get off the ground, they are a great way for the owner to put their own steps on there - meaning you can fix your own problems quicker! And, I have found sites like yours when searching for solutions to problems.

Keep it focused, advertise it in your signature and people who come to it - your customers, if you like - will give you feedback on whether it's worth continuing or if they need changes.
