Humble Bundle has been acquired by IGN

via Gamasutra:

Quote:

"If it's not broken, don't fix it," said Galbraith, who explained that IGN started looking to make a deal like this nearly a year ago. "The idea is just to feed them with the resources they need to keep doing what they're doing."
Humble Bundle has been acquired by media giant IGN

This is one of the big Linux games publishers. Thoughts?

Humble's statement:

Humble Bundle is Joining Forces with IGN!

I am not a gamer, but considering the way gaming (((journalism))) has been seen as of late, and also (((reviews))) I would be worried. Gamergate reverberations are still ongoing. I'll just leave it at that.

Eh.

I hadn't heard of IGN since the 90s. There's something about a lot of the game review sites/magazines that kind of failed to differentiate themselves in any way to me. OTOH, Humble Bundle is really cool and I regularly at least browse through the selection. So it seems like a good move for IGN as long as they don't ruin HB in the process.

I am pretty sure if one is a true gamer, they would avoid anything by IGN, GameSpy and anything put out by (((polygon))) for good reason.
