Arrow Image is important

Kinda murky since Bill Gates is not at Microsoft anymore, would be worse if he were back at Microsoft or say if it were now the current CEO Satya Nadella. I almost typed out Steve Ballmer, but I find it interesting that the head of the Linux foundation doesn't necessarily use FOSS when even making his presentations, per Bryan Lunduke:

Bryan Lunduke - Linux Foundation director runs... Mac OS?!

Published on Sep 12, 2017

The Executive Director of the Linux Foundation, Jim Zemlin, just declared 2017 to be the "Year of the Linux Desktop". And he did so... while running a Mac. He's not the only Linux advocate that doesn't run Linux... and I let them all know what I think of that.

Hopefully not. The last thing we need is M$ code in Android.

Didn't want to start another thread, it is relevant here:

Microsoft appears to have abandoned its smartphone operating system ambitions.

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-41551546

The company's Windows 10 chief has tweeted that developing new features and hardware for the Mobile version of the OS was no longer a "focus".

Joe Belfiore added that he had also switched to Android himself.

He will get stuck with the rest of us that have Android and no updates.
Each day the model for Android leaves users stuck with security holes a child can break into.

Yeah, but no one buys them.

Giving up on phones would be a sensible business decision for Windows. They've never gotten phones right.

Full Disclosure: I had Windows CE phone (T-Mobile Dash, a rebranded HTC Excalibre--at the time, the alternative was a Blackberry and I didn't know from Blackberry and I knew a bit about Windows). It worked, but, after a while, I had to reboot it daily because Windows CE had more memory leaks than Equifax.

That leaves BSD as the main source for the userland of mobile phones (FreeBSD for iOS, NetBSD for Android).
