BETA versions of 4MLinux 4.1 have been released: 4MLinux 4.1 Core
This will be a core system (4.8 MB in size) for the 4MLinux 4.1 series. The system includes: Linux 3.5.1, glibc 2.14.90, and Busybox 1.20.2. All 4MLinux 4.1 applications have been compiled under Fedora 16 (x86/32-bit/SMP).

This release features maintenance (4MLinux Backup Scripts and Clam AntiVirus 0.97.6), multimedia (MPlayer SVN-r35119-4.6.2, FFmpeg Git-2012.08.26, and xine 1.2.2), a mini-server (FTP, HTTP, SSH, and SFTP), and mystery (small Linux games). The X Window System is based on JWM 2.1.0 and the FOX toolkit 1.6.46 (with X File Explorer 1.33). Both Ethernet (including WiFi) and dialup (including fast USB modems) networking are supported. Basic 3D acceleration (via X.Org with Mesa 8.04) can be enabled for many Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD video cards. The size of the 4MLinux ISO image is about 53 MB.

The development target for this release has been defined as follows: the relatively small operating system (ca 72 MB LiveCD) must include the newest stable Wine (i.e. 1.4.1), which should be able to open full-screen flash videos (e.g. from YouTube) in the newest stable Firefox (i.e. 15.0.1) and Opera (v. 12.02). 4MLinux 4.1 Allinone Edition passes this test for many Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD video cards.
