Open Source Software Challenge 2009
(Only for international division)


“Open Source Software Challenge 2009” to be held in Korea.
Open Source Software Challenge 2009 has adopted a new category for international competitors with a view to furthering diverse and borderless exchanges of information among software developers, to contributing to better development technologies by keeping current with trends, to building a worldwide human network of OSS developers and to laying the ground for international project development.
We hope SW developers around the globe will show much interest in and join the challenge as future leaders in world SW industry.

 Overview
- Title : Open Source Software Challenge 2009
- Theme : Freestyle unlimited challenge of SW development
Note: International participants are allowed to submit recently developed
Open Source Software (within one year) regardless of the other
awards received.
- Qualification : Students and the public in general
- Hosted by : MKE (Ministry of Knowledge Economy)
- Organized by : NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency), KOSSA (Korea Open Source Software Association), KOPF (Korea OSS Promotion Forum)
- Schedule of Challenge
Registration of software development plans : July. 1 ~ KST Oct. 15, 2009
Submission deadline of software completed: KST Oct. 23(Fri.), 2009

- Subjects of development
- Free subjects
Completed developments submitted should be based on OSS platforms, opened complying with OSS License Policies (e.g. GPL and LGPL) and subjected to consultation with the host organization on distribution.

- Awards
Ceremony: November 5 , 2009 (to be announced )

Grand Prize 1 MKE Minister’s Prize Korean Won 5million (about USD 3,800)
Gold Prize 1 NIPA Head’s Prize Korean Won 3million (about USD 2,300)

* Cash Prize could be changed due to foreign exchange rate.(1USD= 1,300KRW)
※ Benefits : expense for attending prize-awarding ceremony is offered.
( Flight and hotel expenses for one person for each team)

Please attach the scanned recommendation form in PDF or JPG format and send us at Hannah.k0123@gmail.com. (Your recommender can send us directly.)
3.Fax
