Question Zorin (ubuntu based): ubuntu-desktop wasn't able to update itself

Hi!
I have a Ubuntu based linux called Zorin and today it's got an error while partial upgrading with the text: "Error: BrokenCount > 0" it says that I should check the Package manager for it, because it maybe broken or have unmet dependencies.. I've opened PM to check it, and I found it, marked for reinstallation, but when I tried to apply it, it said this:
Code:
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
E: Unable to lock the download directory
So what should I do now?

1) Make sure all Package Managers are closed.

2) Open A Terminal and try the following commands one-at-a-time:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get --fix-missing install
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get update

3) Does it now work? Are you getting any error messages?

Well thank you arochester! It did work (I think..)! After typing all of the commands you've written down it seems like, now it's alright.. I've checked package manager again and now there isn't any broken package!
Thank you!

A bit late perhaps:

Tip: You do not need to type commands into the Terminal. Highlight the command written on the web page. Move your cursor anywhere in the Terminal and press your mouse wheel or mouse middle button. Automatic Copy and paste! No spelling mistakes! No Typos! No other errors!
