Smile Zorin 9 lite question

Well talk about a newbie I am newbie alright a 72 year old grandpa and it is ALL new to me I just installed Zorin 9 lite in my old 2004 Compac presario and what do you know it works all except for youtube . I go to youtube and it will not play any of the youtube videos ? I thought Zorin 9 Lite had everything in it ready to go ? But it seems to be missing something needed to play youtube videos . I do know how to get to the terminal screen I figured that out. Thats about the total of my knowledge on Zorin 9 Lite or any linux OS . Any help is greatly appreciated .

Sounds like you don't have adobe flash plugin (I'm assuming you are using Firefox browser?). Go to: to see if flash is working.

You should be able to get flash from the software center (or whatever zorin calls it). Look in your menu and somewhere it will say something like "software center". Then search for adobe flash and click install.

In Ubuntu (which zorin is based off of) they have "restricted extras" in the software center. That includes: flash plus a few other things like Mp3 support. You can also look if they have that instead (you probably want it).

Zorin should have given you the flash plugin. Enter about:plugins into the address bar of Firefox and see if it's listed as installed and marked as enabled.

If you have it, there might be a problem with the version. If you computer has a Pentium 3, that will be incompatible with the latest flash. Here's my post explaining what to do
