Zoneminder URL can't be found by Apache2

Having tried several posts on this issue and browsing numerous conf files I am at a loss... Any suggestions beyond the reload, and apache to apache2 ln's?

Apache2 is working, I get the default page when attempting to log in via browser... Apache (not2) config does not seem to be present, I get an error when trying ln.

I can't seem to find the zm html pages and don't really understand some of the more sophisticated ways to direct to pages and scripts...

Not sure where to go next, maybe Apache manuals?

I's sure this is in the wrong place but as a newwwbie, I thought I'd throw it in here as an intro...

What error? You need to post it. You also forgot to indicate which of the numerous Linux distributions you might be using. You need to add apache to the video group and change owner:group of /dev/video to apache:apache. Some systems such as Ubuntu use www-data instead of apache.

First, welcome to LQ!

Next, we will need quite a bit more info to provide a useful answer.

At the minimum, please say what distro you are using, installed to HDD or VM, you apparently have two apache versions installed - did you install using the distro's package manager... etc. etc...

Good luck!

More info re zoneminder

Running Ubuntu 10.04 32bit, clean install on 2tb HDD. Updates til current. I don' believe both Apache and Apache2 are installed since no dir for other than Apache2 are visible. Perhaps this is part of the prob? Installed with apt-get with all sources enabled.

I will need to try again and copy the errors..... I need to save those. Thanks for responding. I will move this to an appropriate area when I have speciifics. The level and volume of detail surprised me. Other installs (VLC for example) were flawless.

Thanks again for the reply.
