Ziproxy vs Squid eCap gzip module

I want to setup a web proxy that will compress the data and will also perfrorm some sort of content filtering,

After a bit of googling around i found out that i have the following two options:

a) ziproxy --> Does the compression but no content filtering

b) squid with squidguard --> Does the content filtering but not compression.

I later found out that with the new version of squid 3.x the eCap adapter gives the possibility to load a gzip module that would perform compression, hence

c) Squid + squidguard + eCap Gzip = goal

The thing is that i am a bit confused as to wether those two things do the same thing. Meaning that if indeed ziproxy and the squid eCap gzip adapter actually perform the same thing.

Any of you guys tried out the eCap gzip module?

i fount out that the eCap adapter is used for just http compression.

Ziproxy compresses far more elements , such as jpg, flash e.t.c compare to the particular squid module.

My solution to my goal was to chain squid with ziproxy

Squid(with guard) --> ziproxy -->

In that way, clients requests from squid the websitea, squid checks with the aid of squid-guard if it should process the reuquest, and if yest it will ask from ziproxy to fetch the webpage.

Ziproxy in turn will fetch the webpage, compress it and turn it to squid where then will be delivered to the client.

Hence, we have content filtering and compression
