Cool Zip File Help :D

Hello, I am running apache, I would like to zip one of my webpages to move it to a XP box to update the html files. So, I was wondering how I can zip the files from the linux terminal. the path is /var/www/html I want that directory and all subdirectorys to be in the zip file. I know how to unzip a file. Just need to know how to zip it up so that XP can unzip it. Thanks for your help. Long live the Penguin!

I think you should use the "zip" command.
Try this:

zip /root/back /var/www/html/*

this should create the file /root/back.zip. Theoretically Winzip should be able to open this file, but I haven't tried.

Add the -r option to zip a directory and sub-directories.

zip -r /var/www/html/
