zip a folder


suppose i have a folder named FOLDER and I want to zip it together with the files it contains inside.

If i do gzip folder, Ii get an error messesage telling me that FOLDER is a directory..

How can i ahieve that?

tar czvf folder.tar.gz FOLDER
