zd7000 widescreen

I have loaded my nvidia driver successfully and such. But what i am trying to do is get my screen resolution to be 1440 x900. It has it as a monitor and i have it to that but i cannot set it on screen resolution. Can someone tell me how i can get my screen to resize to that? I can make it bigger resolution but the screen keeps growing out and i have to scroll my scree in order to see things. I just want to get it like windows where my res is 1440 x 900. Thanks someone let me know if this is possible or not.

Use the search feature and check the other billion posts with the answers and working config files rather than dragging up the issue as a new question...
