yumex error on start-up


hi,
i installed yumex:yum -y install yumex,
when i start yumex it came with this error:
fatal error:backend-not-running
backend not running as expected (yumex will close)
how can i solve it?

You can try running
yumex --root

in a terminal

What distribution ?

fedora or rhel with SELinux ?

thanks for replying,
i must use --root otherwise i can't use yumex in terminal,
fedora core 11 with rpmfusion,
i remove SElinux from start up application.

You don't have to remove SELinux from the start up, just set it to permissive. Then you'll get a warning if yumex is doing something SELinux doesn't like.

Does your answer mean yumex is working ?

setenforce 0 =>i think this one will set SElinux to permissive,i did it too but i confront that error again,
i don'w know if youmex will be working or not because when i run the command yumex --root,yumex Gui starts but gave me this error:
fatal error:backend-not-running
backend not running as expected (yumex will close),
and then i press ok to exit

yum is the backend to yumex, so does yum work by itself ?

yeah yum is working fine,
the only problem i have with yum is that it takes several minutes to update its file list,i use dial up and it really annoys me,a guy from suggest me to install yumex,
and here i am with yumex problem

Why did you think that Yumex the install Process faster ?
I do not use yumex anymore , but in the past I just install it with the command as root yum install yumex and use yumex from the GUI

There are lots of issues with yumex and it not using yum properly.

a guy told me that yumex would save traffic so i decide to use it,
