yum updating FAST!!!

Hopefully some newbies (like myself) will find this useful.

I contacted my ISP and asked if they had a mirror for performing Linux updates (in my case Fedora Core 1). They said they did and provided me the url.

I modified the yum.conf file to point to the location provided by my ISP and the updates are flying across the wire!!!

I never would have found the updates area on my ISP if I hadn't contacted them.

Maybe a call to your ISP will help.
