yum update error


when I run the yum to update my server. I am getting this error. Can anyone help me. Please, any help is appreciated. i was not getting it before. How do I fix this? thank you!

# yum -y update

Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again

dont worry its states there

wait few hours and try again "
btw this is normal sometimes happen, but if u want u can try change your dns server eg
try use opendns

Hi asif2k,

As you can see in the error message that it is not getting the information about repository file, so you need to check that first at /etc/yum.repos.d file. Before editing the original file it is always better to take a backup of original file. Make sure that repository must be there and should not be renamed as well. Also check whether you started network services before using YUM.
