Yum Update

I have just installed Fedora Core 3, i have run the <yum update> command to update the installation and it appears to have completed apart from one small thing, it hasnt actually updated as far as i can tell. WHen it finishes checking the headers, downloading the updates and installing them the normal prompt appears and i can use the terminal window again.

No errors during the update.

When i reboot and run yum update again to see if there are any more updates i have missed, it repeats the update it just did!!!

I am a little confused here

If it has just checked, downloaded AND installed how can the same updates be available again?.

Please Help

Sometimes yum hiccups. When there are a lot of updates to grab, it will grab the headers, say "resolving dependencies" and then stop.

If you run yum update again, it will act like it's downloading the headers again, but this time it should resolve the dependencies. There is actually an update to yum in that listing of updates that will show up on a new install.

Persistence pays off in this case.
