Yum replies with error
Hello,
In my yellow dog linux, I have to update with YUM. If I ask the updates, I get a nice list. However if I ask to update I get a list of headers, and then an error and Yum is stopped. If i try to update just one package, same. I get this error .... after a long list..........l getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/nhpf-0-1.42-3.ppc.hdr getting /var/cache/yum/base/headers/screen-0-3.9.11-10.ppc.hdr getting /var/cache/yum/updates/headers/mod_ssl-1-2.0.40-21.3b.ppc.hdr >>>>>>> IOError: [Errno 104] Connection reset by peer URL: http://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/ye...tes/headers/mo d_ssl-1-2.0.40-21.3b.ppc.hdr and I find myself back at the console. My guess is that one of the addresses YUM is using for getting updates is not working. Is that right? Do I have to find out the problem address and replace it ? An if yes where? Does anyone have a better idea? Thanks in advance. CloudBuilder |

Seems the server is too busy. Choose another mirror at http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html and then edit /etc/yum.conf to point to the selected mirror. Keep the $releasever and $basearch variables though (open the /etc/yum.conf and you'll understand what I am saying).
