yum redhat enterprise 3AS

Hi to all reading this thread

I'm going through a small problem with redhat enterprise 3AS (taroon). I dont have the key to reg at rhn and am looking to update via yum or any recommended tool from other thread helpers/users. having followed install, yum.conf routes, me and the screen still get a glitch with yum update list...fail etc to get header info from such a such mirror site...has this yum got a bug or something I dont fully understand. do I need to change up2date source code or another somewhere piece of script to fix problem - can someone with the same version redhat enterprise pass on how and what to look at to finally yum.conf from my box to a fast mirror site located out of this insecure.box, that wants to feel and sense, md5, secure 3AS updates and no exploits

many thanks for any help given on this matter or further recommendations for yum connect to mirror sites...
