Yum in RHEL 6.5

I am studying for my Linux RHCSA examination and I am confused about the "yum" service.

In RHEL 6.5, does "yum" come automatically installed when I install a Basic Server or is this something I have to install manually before I can do an update?

Thank you,

Steven

Yum is by default installed.. untill and unless you customise the repositories at the installation time and uncheck the one responsible for yum.

google " yum rhel "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowd...ater,_Modified
YellowDog Updater, Modified --- as in Y.U.M.

if it was NOT installed how would you update RHEL
That is , once you bought the required support contract and registered your install
