Hi thanks for the link but that link doesnt help much with the problem i have i have already configured the yum.conf file
as i said all my proxy details are correct as i am a ble to connect to the internet. but still cannot update. |
Are you connecting to internet via transparent proxy or do you set your web browser to connect it via proxy?
|
You can browse internet, but does yum seem to go the websites? If yum does not go on the web, then your proxy details may not be known by yum. If it is the case then try in the terminal:
Code:
export http_proxy:"http://myproxyname.domain:port" |

Yes i do connect via a proxy and i have edited my web browser to use the proxy settings. _________ export http_proxy:"http://myproxyname.domain:port" export ftp_proxy:"http://myproxyname.domain:port" I have tried these and i get the error not a valid identifier for the both of them. thank you for everyones help |
Ok you will need to set the environment variable http_proxy. It has already been answered in the post #5. Do that. Or else you can do it other way as well.
Code:
http_proxy=proxy_ip:proxy_port |
Good Day.
I have tried and tried still no luck |
