yum command error

please help i have Linux XP Dektop
and i686 32 bit system
how can i resolve this issue
root@localhost.localdomain[~/setups/yum-2.0.7]# yum update yum
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: Red Hat Linux 1 - i386 - Base
retrygrab() failed for:
Executing failover method
failover: out of servers to try
Error getting file
[Errno 4] IOError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found

You sure the repos you are connecting to still alive? they might be dead and thats why system is unable to connect them.

Redhat9 has not been supported since 2003 and from the link you posted you are looking for Redhat1(I would suspect it has not been supported since 98). After the RHX series Red Hat started counting over under the RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) designation. Currently they are on RHEL5.2. So effectively you are looking for packages for a version that is 14 releases behind the times.
