you have new mail ?


whan I log on to my linux red hat I recieve a messege that "you have a new mail" what that is mean and where I can see that mail ?

you can type pine or mail in the console.

When you log in it checks your local mail box (note: this is not the same thing as email) - it is often used by your system to send you updates, such as informing you that a cron job has started, has caused errors, etc.

Use the above to read.

Can one use Evolution to read local mail . How about sending local mail to another user on th esame linux box? Thanks from a newbie,
