you have mail ??? huh

I just rebooted my linux, logged in (not in gafical mode) and i get this message, You have mail

Strange for me as linux noob, because the linux box isn't connected to the net.

How can i read that mail ? i don't have knowledge of all commands yet ...

You probably got a generic "welcome to the system" mail that was generated when you installed or a daily security/log report. You can use a CLI mail reader like pine or mutt to read the mail.
