Yet another boot disk question... Help plz

Hi I'm on a linux machine at the moment and it is great. But I have 2 computers in my room and the other one had Windows XP on it. Well I removed windows and then I attempted to install drake 10.0 , I kept getting the message "non system disk. replaces system disk and strike any key when ready". I went into CMOS and changed the settings to boot from the CD ROM and that is giving me the same error message. I think maybe I need a boot disk but when I try to make one in the linux terminal It refuses to right to the floppy. I was wondering if anyone knew if i could download everything i need and just simply copy it to the floppy? well if anyone has any advice let me know.

Also I have no idea how to put linux into sleep mode or standby , I use the gnome GUI so if anyone has the answers i would be thankful.

If you have 2 computers use the other to make a boot disk under windows. In the past if you inserted a drake disk in windows it would autorun and present you with an option to creat a boot diskette

As for sleep hybernation. From what I've read linux doesn't feature that yet... but I might be wrong

Hibernate function which uses the swap disk, It only works if you have the kernel which they use.
