Yellowdog PPC boot into X question
Its a long story but when I installed Yellowdog I said that I wanted it to boot into the GUI logon. There is problems with that because of my display. I can logon first time but when I logout first time the screen goes blank. The only way out is a hard start.
The question is, does anyone know how to turn off the option of booting into a GUI logon screen and have it go to command line instead? I have to use weird options to get my cinema display to work also so if anyone knows where I add those commands to the boot config file (or where that file is) so I do not have to type it in manually everytime I would appreciate it. I don't know if the PPC versios use the same technique, but try:
When you're logged in, edit the file /etc/initab and change the line that says id:5:initdefault to the same but with a 3. Then, to drop immediately to run-level 3 (which is what the above says), open an xterm and su root[/u], then type init 3[/b]. |
