Yellow Dog Linux CD Burn

I have downloaded yellowdog-6.2-ppc-DVD_20090629.iso I want to try this on my mac. I did download this from Fixstars.com. I have in the past burned linux iso images. That do in fact boot. The mac is new to me. I burned it and thought was right. When I open the disc I see all the folders. But trying on my mac. As well on a windows machine it doesn't boot from it. So I did again on the windows box using nero. Same results again no boot. Is there something I'm missing or not doing right. Is the image I downloaded not bootable. Also I read about use the disk utility on the mac. But the screenshots don't look like my disk utility. This is aMac mini (Late 2014)2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Thank You

Yellowdog linux is for the Power architecture and will not run on x86 compatible hardware.

Here is some information on how to install Ubuntu which provides the basic steps.

Sorry, your original link didn't refer to any Linux downloads so I removed it as possible advertising but then searched for places to download yellowdog Linux from and found the correct link further down in their site.

Michaelk is correct, this ISO will not run on an x86 machine.

For those who do have PPC architecture, it's worth noting that Yellow Dog is discontinued! The website is still there, but they haven't had a release since 2012 and there'll never be another one
