Yahoo Instant Messinger

Hi, Can I use the Windows Version of Yahoo Messinger in Linux. Maby using Wine or something else or a completely different way? I use Gaim now but I would like to use the same virsion windows uses. Yahoo has a Messinger for Linux but its an old version.:newbie:

I would love to be able to use the linux equivalent of the latest version of yahoo for windows. Linux is sweet but the messenger clients are sooo clunky. The official yahoo client for linux is a dog.

I had a look at the codeweavers page for their wine based crossover office product which supports windows apps: http://www.codeweavers.com/site/comp.../cat?cat_id=37

It doesn't support backdated versions, and my guess is that windows yahoo messenger would be difficult to set up under wine.

Try the latest version of GAIM. It supports Yahoo, and I personally prefer it to the Windows version of YIM.

I use GAIM

Yes, I already do use GAIM.
I would like the windows virsion because GAIM dosnot have all the funtions of Yahoo Messinger. I want It to do everything it does in windows on Linux (Games and Picture thing and everything else). I do wish that they made the same virsion for both (of corse not exactly the some because ones for Linux and one is for Windows :) )
