Unhappy Xubuntu 8.10 Desktop Disfunctionality

Hi, I just switched to Xubuntu 8.10 and from the install I have not been able to highlight anything on the desktop or scroll on the desktop (to switch to other virtual desktops). As of late I also cannot left click to start programs (I can to drag and drop). Any ideas?

XUbuntu, well XFCE is an interesting choice of desktop and if you are a newbie to the arena, maybe starting with a more user friendly desktop such as Gnome or KDE would be a better suite to you.

I'm unsure of the Ubuntu set up of XFCE, but here is the guide that you may need:

Xubuntu official desktop manual

desktop, highlight, scroll, xubuntu
