Xubuntu 16.04 Display Change Problems

HoWdY!! I just installed Xubuntu 16.04 on my IBM ThinkCenter 2.5GHZ 2gig RAM and 400gig HD with Intel 8565(?) video chipset and everything works well ... EXCEPT I am in 640X480 and there is no way to change it!! I've looked around for these problems and people have posted that it was in 14.04 and Virtual Boxes but nothing on a straight desktop. There MUST be some way to change this!! There have been a few suggestions I've tried but none has worked! Is there a way to install Intel drivers like in WinDoZE?
Thankx for any help of hints!!

Can you post /var/log/Xorg.log?

Normally X11 configures the graphics for maximum resolution.

My previous reply was deleted. So I offer a rewrite.

There was a guy called Joe Gerard. He was a car salesman.
He is in the Guinness Book Of World Records for the MOST new cars sold in a year for 7 years straight.
He has a principle that he shares in his book about how he became so SUCCESSFUL and it is this :-
For EVERY funeral and wedding there are at least 250 people that the Caterers make as an estimate for for food, settings, etc. for a wedding or funeral.
Joe Gerard said that this means that EVERYONE knows at least 250 people well enough to talk to them once a day, once a week, once a month or whatever! If he gives a great deal to EVERYONE who walks through that door to his office, then everyone of these happy customers have 250 people that they will tell about the great deal they got at Joe Gerard's Car Store. If Joe gave them a BAD DEAL then he will ALSO tell all of these 250 people about the crappy deal they got and pretty soon the sore doors will be closed and locked and everyone will be looking for a new job. THE MESSAGE IS THIS ==
BECAUSE this ONE PERSON who told ALL HIS FRIENDS about the Great/Crappy deal they got will then go and tell EACH OF THEIR 250 friends the story about THEIR friend and the Great/Crappy deal they got at Joe Gerard's Car Store. Pretty soon NO ONE comes through the door and your business dies.

I offer this story in response to this reply to my initial question. === and oh ya PS - I didn't SEE the first line about the log file because my display was set at 640 X 480 and it zoomed past! I wouldn't know where to find it anyways!

- BUT - I will NOW go and tell EACH of the 4500 people I KNOW and TALK TO CONSISTENTLY just how LITTLE ON-LINE HELP there is for Linux Xubuntu 16.04 ... and then they will tell their 250 people ... and each will tell THEIR 250 ... THINK ABOUT THIS BEFORE YOU BRUSH SOMEONE OFF WITH A USELESS ANSWER TO A SIMPLE QUESTION!
Thank you!
