Xterm errors: missing Render extensions

When I run the linux xterm on my windows computer (using winaXe) I get this error when I try runing some programs:
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display "[my windows com IP]".

Sometimes the program will run anyway but most of the time the window will flash open than close and then I get this error: Device or resource busy

If it helps, it happens mostly to programs starting with K (ex. Kword, konquere ) and I’m running mandrake 9.1

how can i fix this?
