xscreensaver problem

okay i somehow shutoff the xscreensaver daemon. i honestly do not know how but since its off, after 10 minutes my screen goes blank (which i dont want) the only way to fix this is to manually launch xscreensaver or access the screensaver picker menu and then it starts xscreensaver for me and then i can select "No Screensaver". This is a hassle when i hafta do it everytime i log in, so basically how can i turn xscreensaver on again?

Do you startup in a graphical login or to the command-line and have to type startx?

If you don't have the file .xinitrc create it and put the line
xscreensaver &
in it.

If this doesn't work, reply back.
