XP upgrade on dual boot system?
 

COMPLETE n00b question here but is it possible to upgrade (from piece of shit ME) to XP on my dula boot Mandrake9.2 and ME system?
Specifically will it mess up my partitions. I'm upgrading and not doing a fresh install so will that keep me safe?

I need XP as my backup so don't try and convince me to get rid of windows completely, I use linux for 90% of all my desktop work.

how many hd do u have? u got 1 hd for 2 diff partitions (ext3, and FAT32) ?


basically regardlness u got 2 hd or 1, M$ OS won't see anything else other then FAT32.

i assume ur ME is installed on first disk sector, and linux on the second disk sector. when you insert ur xp disk. it will only read the FAT32 paritition and treat that's your whole hd
