XP has Killed Grub

I've just reinstalled XP after playing with Vista for a few weeks, just went through the normal install procedure and selected the partition Vista was installed too and ouila no more Vista.

unfortunately Windows has killed my Grub Loader and i cant get anywhere near Ubuntu

i have booted into the system with a live CD but dont know what to do next. i've found various htreads about this problem but they are all a diffferent disc configuration and i cant retro-figure out how to change the information to work for my setup.

i think it goes something like this.

xp is installed in the first partition after the MBR then the linux swap file and finally the ubuntu system partition.

not sure about the other bits and bobs.

sorry for asking a question that has probablybeen asked a thousand times before.

You could try using Super Grub Disk to reinstall grub to the MBR.

I'm glad you got it to work for you. Super Grub Disk is a handy tool to keep in your collection of recovery tools.
