I bought a Toshiba Regza 42" TV recently and i'm in the proccess of building my first HTPC. After installing Ubuntu 7.10, the login screen on the TV seems to cut of from the right side and the bottom. I tried to mess with the GUI settings without any results. I also tried:
Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and reran it couple of times with multiple options. TV is 720P capable.
i looked into /etc/X11 but there are multiple config files. Some with unix time stamps and others are not and i don't which file Xorg is using:
Code:
family@UHTC:/etc/X11$ ls
app-defaults xorg.conf.1 xorg.conf.7
cursors xorg.conf.2 xorg.conf.8
default-display-manager xorg.conf.20080219215705 xorg.conf.9
fonts xorg.conf.20080219231559 Xresources
rgb.txt xorg.conf.20080219232132 xserver
X xorg.conf.3 Xsession
xinit xorg.conf.4 Xsession.d
xkb xorg.conf.5 Xsession.options
xorg.conf xorg.conf.6 Xwrapper.config
buttom line: i know nothing about xorg and i need a jumpstart ... any one can help?
