xmms tag problem

hello!
Since i first installed xmms i got a problem with mp3 tags! When I load a playlist instead of artist and titles, shown on the player there are random letters! here an example:
Instead of
1. Over Limit - skid

I got shown

1. e ii - i

This happens with mp3 tags i made with grip or that someone did. But some tags work...so i really don't know what to do....
if someone can help me it would be nice
Thank you

no idea, but maybe try looking at the files in another tag-reading app to see if the problem is with xmms - for example mp3blaster or juk if you have it installed, or there are many others.

also, maybe a look at the files in a hex editor (check beginning and end of file for tag info) might yield some clues?

...I tried with mp3blaster and tags are displayed correctly, the same using Juk and Zinf! ...so it's a xmms problem i think!
Anyway thank you for the advices!
